Born and raised in Vermont and Connecticut, Richard Romanus (1943) attended Xavier
University and received a BS in Philosophy…

He then attended the University of Connecticut Law School for a year, after which he left school to pursue a career as an actor. He studied at the famous Actors Studio with Lee Strassberg, and his first major role came as the character “Michael” in Martin Scorsese’s classic film Mean Streets. In the years that followed Richard Romanus performed in numerous stage productions, films and television shows. In addition to his acting, Richard Romanus is credited with the composer on several films. Together with his wife, Anthea Sylbert, he also wrote and produced Giving Up the Ghost in 1998 and If You Believe in 1999, for which they were nominated for a Writers Guild of America award for Best Original Screenplay.
 Since the end of 2001 Richard and Anthea have been living in Skiathos, Greece.

Ο Ρίτσαρντ Ρομάνους (1943), λιβανέζικης καταγωγής, γεννήθηκε στο Βερμόντ των ΗΠΑ.

Πήρε πτυχίο Φιλοσοφίας από το Πανεπιστήμιο Xavier του Σινσινάτι και ξεκίνησε να σπουδάζει Νομικά αλλά τα εγκατέλειψε για να ακολουθήσει καριέρα ηθοποιού. Φοίτησε στο φημισμένο Actor’s Studio της Νέας Υόρκης με τον Lee Strassberg και ο πρώτος σημαντικός του ρόλος ήταν στην ταινία Κακόφημοι δρόμοι του Μάρτιν Σκορσέζε. Στα χρόνια που ακολούθησαν συμμετείχε σε αμέτρητες ταινίες, θεατρικά έργα και τηλεοπτικές σειρές, όπως οι Σοπράνος. Ο Ρομάνους έχει επίσης γράψει μουσική για αρκετές ταινίες και μαζί με τη γυναίκα του Άνθεα έχουν γράψει και κάνει την παραγωγή των ταινιών Giving up the ghost το 1998 και If you believe το 1999, για το οποίο προτάθηκαν για το βραβείο Καλύτερου Σεναρίου της Αμερικανικής Ένωσης Σεναριογράφων.

Από το 2002 ο Ρίτσαρντ και η Άνθεα ζουν μόνιμα στη Σκιάθο.
